    VALUES

    • Integrity: Never do anything you’d be ashamed for your mom to find out, you can’t go wrong.
    • Family: I don’t know what I would do without them.
    • Just do it: I used to have social anxiety, stage fright, and a general fear of the unknown, now I make a living in sales, explore all I can, and embrace the unknown and new.

    HEROES

    • My wife: She can do anything and everything; how she does it all is a thing of wonder.
    • Mr. Rogers: Helped to shape a generation by asking them to be his neighbor.
    • Fareed Zakaria: Is there a more level-headed, informed, and insightful journalist and moderator out there today?

WHAT I HOPE TO LEARN FROM MY TEAMMATES

There are lots of pieces to this endeavour that aren’t in my wheelhouse, I hope to learn as much as I can about all of them.

    SUPERPOWER

Puzzles and problem solving superpowers! It’s what originally drove me to computer science and continues to get me excited; I’ll drop whatever I’m working on for a problem someone brings me.

    PURPOSE

When my child grows up, and if I’m lucky enough to have grandchildren, I want them to grow up in a more reasonable and civil world than is unfolding before us.

A BIG QUESTION ON MY MIND

How can I find balance in my life and the time to get everything done?

    A CREATION I'M PROUD OF

My daughter Raya, 19 months old, work in progress for an indefinite amount of time; she’s adorable, huggable, sweet, friendly, daring, chatty, inquisitive, and give the best snuggles.

    BOOKS I LOVE

    • Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:
A wonderful world of science fiction, satire, and silliness with the bonus of the answer to the life, the universe, and everything.

    • Alam Moore’s Watchmen: Who will watch the watchmen? The world isn’t really black and white and maybe we can’t rely on superheroes to save us.

    • Norton Anthology of Short Fiction: Because I couldn’t settle on a 3rd, so I cheated, this has all the stories.

    PODCASTS I LOVE

    • Pod Save America by Crooked Media: All the political current events but delivered with humor to take the depressing edge off.
    • Pod Save the World by Crooked Media: Ditto, but globally.
    • Radiolab by WNYC: It’s a combination of storytelling and investigative journalism into fascinating off-the-beaten-path themes that delight.

    ART I LOVE

    • The Godfather: It can’t be watched too many times.
    • Colosseum, Rome: 2000 years old and still standing, they don’t make them like they used to; the scale, engineering, and intricacy are a marvel.
    • Cirque du Soleil: Always leave my jaw hanging; the combination of human physicality, music, and art is unparalleled.

    BRANDS I LOVE

    • Tasc: Performance clothing made from bamboo!  Soft, breathable, and sustainable, all other clothing is crap.
    • Crooked Media: Their podcasts help me make sense of the world, give me hope, and make me laugh.
    • ACLU: Fighting the good fight for everyone’s rights.
