    VALUES

    • Humility: Something that I will never fully develop, but to the degree that I have it has definitely opened up doors.
    • Gratitude: Super fortunate and lucky to have had the experiences and people in my life that I do.
    • Flexibility: Gumby is my patron saint and the path to great achievement is never linear.

    HEROES

    • Muhammad Yunus: The inventor of microlending and social entrepreneurship, I hope to achieve even a marginal impact on the world compared to Professor Yunus.
    • Robert Diggs: Founding member of the Wu Tang Clan, also known as the “RZA,” he created a music movement that has had tremendous influence on me.
    • Kurt Vonnegut: The greatest American satirist to ever live, he embodied challenging the status quo through creativity.

WHAT I HOPE TO LEARN FROM MY TEAMMATES

Best practices in shaping young minds in a positive and cohesive way through knowledge and experience.

    SUPERPOWER

I am a mission-driven multi-tool; give me a problem and I will develop a path forward. It might not always be right, but it will be something.

    PURPOSE

Having the profound experience of witnessing cultures where youth do not understand even the remote concept of self esteem and their ability to influence change encourages me to participate in facilitating the opposite within the country that has given me so much.

A BIG QUESTION ON MY MIND

What are the common characteristics among people who have changed the world?

    A CREATION I'M PROUD OF

Asikesu Community Health Clinic - Built a community health clinic that serves over 6,000 people living in poverty in Asikesu, Ghana, West Africa, oversaw the entire project from the initial idea to the opening day ceremony.

    BOOKS I LOVE

    • Muhammad Yunus' Banker to the Poor: This book literally changed my life and set me on a path that I can trace to where I am now (you’ve probably heard this before but it's true in this case!)

    • Walter Isaacson's Leonardo Da Vinci: One of the most fascinating people in the history of the universe.

    • Howard Zinn's A People’s History of the United States: Amazing narrative and story through the voice of the oppressed in the creation of the free world. To quote Matt Damon - “this book will knock you on your fucking ass.”

    PODCASTS I LOVE

    • The West Wing Weekly: I am one of the biggest West Wing fans you will ever meet.
    • Masters of Scale: Had the pleasure to meet Deron and June and invest in WaitWhat at Human Ventures, Masters of Scale tells amazing stories of what creates great companies.
    • Should This Exist: Also a WaitWhat production, takes a critical look at new technology and asks the question “should this exist?”

    ART I LOVE

    • Saynatsalo Town Hall: My favorite building designed by my favorite architect, Alvaar Alto.
    • Composition with Red Blue and Yellow - Piet Mondrian, simple and amazing.
    • Anything MC Escher: His ability to alter perspectives is incredible.

    BRANDS I LOVE

    • National Geographic: Healthy content that shows how wonderful and amazing our world and humans within it can be, although recently has transitioned to sounding the alarm on climate change, also very much necessary.
    • Brooks Brothers: I think there is something interesting about creating a style that borrowers both from the dapper and the homeless, Brooks Brothers would play a role in that.
    • Moringa Connect: Improving lives through the Moringa Tree, Kwami Williams is one of the most amazing people I have ever met and worked with and I love what he has created.
